OCEANSIDE (CBS 8) – Agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine stopped a boat in the Oceanside Harbor containing more than 500 pounds of methamphetamine.
It happened during a routine patrol on Friday morning.
During the inspection, agents found a hidden compartment that ran down the sides of the boat and under the floor. Inside, they found 200 packages of meth worth an estimated street value of about $7 million.
One person on board, a 48-year old male U.S. citizen, was arrested.
