CODY — An autopsy has determined that a man whose decapitated body was found Thursday in Park County likely died two days before his discovery.

The Park County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about the identity of the man whose dismembered body was found by a hunter along the Little Sand Coulee Road, northeast of Powell.

A forensic pathologist reports the victim was approximately 5-feet- 4 inches to 5-feet-6 and weighed between 180 and 200 pounds. The victim was less than 35 years of age and appears to have been an agricultural or ranch worker. The victim was of a “stocky” build and was in good physical condition.

The forensic pathologist estimates the time of death to be Jan. 7. The exact cause of death is still under investigation.
