Federal authorities have seized yet another load of crystal methamphetamine at a Laredo port of entry.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 23 pounds of crystal methamphetamine after the driver of Chevy TrailBlazer attempted to smuggle them within the vehicle Tuesday morning.
This is the third seizure of methamphetamines in the past three days. On Monday, CBP found 23 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, worth about $832,000, concealed within a vehicle at the Lincoln-Juarez International Bridge.
At the same bridge Tuesday, CBP encountered the TrailBlazer driven by a 44-year-old male U.S. citizen from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. The vehicle and driver were referred to secondary inspection. The examination resulted in CBP officers discovering 69 bundles containing 23 pounds of alleged crystal methamphetamine concealed within the vehicle.
The crystal methamphetamine has an estimated street value of $736,000.
CBP officers seized the methamphetamine and the vehicle. CBP officers arrested the driver and turned him over to Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation.
